The ASU Karsten course at Arizona State bears the name of Karsten Solheim who was a great benefactor of the golf course and of the university golf programme which has produced the likes of Phil Mickleson for the professional circuit.
The course is superbly maintained and as you would expect from a Pete Dye design is an exacting test of any golfers abilities as it demands a great deal of thought to get around with a good score on your card. The fairways are lined with spectator friendly mounding and the course has a links feel to it and the 9th, 16th and 18th are regularly voted as the toughest in Arizona.
